Microsoft recently announced major changes to the partner program that replaced competencies with designations. Now there are six new Solutions Partner designations aligned to solution areas that include incremental benefits. This is a great way to stand out from the competition and highlight your expertise in specific technology areas that are key for business growth.
To achieve a Solutions Partner designation you need to meet a minimum requirement in three categories: Performance, Skilling and Customer success. Each of these metrics is measured based on your results captured in Partner Center.
You can check your eligibility for each of these category in the Solutions Partner designation page on Partner Center. This page shows your current enrolled status as well as your qualification eligibility window.
The requirements to achieve a Solutions Partner designation have increased significantly over the previous competency levels. This means that it will be hard for current Gold and Silver partners to achieve a Solutions Partner designation. However, if your anniversary date is after September 30th, 2022 and you cannot reach the new metrics, it is likely that you will be able to renew your Silver or Gold membership based on the old requirements until October 1st, 2023.
