League of Legends Lecture is a series where we explore the many ways in which the game works from the perspectives of top players, coaches, and scholars. We’ll take a look at everything from the big picture to the tiny details, and how they all fit together.

We’re looking to tackle the things that a lot of people miss or forget about when playing League. This is meant to be a series of articles that can help you see the game from different angles so you can improve your play and have more fun in the process!

Before the millions of players and billions of dollars in revenue, before the esports tournaments that reach over 100 million spectators, League of Legends was just a video game. And like most games, it’s a medium that produces conflict — not just in-game conflicts between wizards and demons, but also the conflict between players that can lead to toxic behavior.

Getting better at a game requires a large amount of practice. It’s much like trying to achieve the highest level in any sport or activity: You need to start with the fundamentals and learn how the game is structured.

Unfortunately, most people don’t do this. They spam a few hundred or thousands of games in solo queue and repeat the same mistakes and bad habits. This is the leading cause of rank/skill stagnation and should be avoided at all costs. 롤대리
