The botany at dairy farm
The name of this new condo development pays homage to the area’s past as Singapore’s first tropical dairy farm back in the 1930s. The dairy farm was a revolutionary concept at the time as it was the first in the world to rear Friesian cows and win global acclaim for its milk products.
Today, Hillview is peppered with a number of condo developments and the latest kid on the block is the Dairy Farm Residences. Like its competitor Midwood, this 99-year leasehold development is designed by DP Architects who have previously helped design brutalist concepts such as People’s Park Complex and Golden Mile Complex.
The premise behind this project is that residents will be able to enjoy the convenience of having a mall right at their doorstep along with nature’s greenery. The majority of the units here will have a diagonal view of the nearby Dairy Farm Nature Park. This will allow homeowners to enjoy the cool breeze from the park while being surrounded by natural scenery.
In addition, the development is also equipped with a range of facilities such as swimming pool and BBQ pits. The pool is located on the 5th floor and is well-positioned to take advantage of the cooling winds blowing in from the park below.
Price-wise, the Dairy Farm Residences trades at a slight premium to its competitors in Hillview, with the last 84 sqm stack facing south (football field) selling for $1,428,000 (10th floor). That is a 27% premium over Midwood, which has a similar layout and view but sits at a slightly further distance from the MRT. the botany at dairy farm
